According to Xports News (Korea), Jiyeon (T-ara) and professional baseball player Hwang Jae Gyun have officially completed divorce proceedings and property division.
Accordingly, the couple's divorce was resolved by the Seoul Court (Korea) on November 20. Jiyeon and Hwang Jae Gyun were not present in person at the trial, but only had representatives come to discuss and reconcile. In the end, the two came to an agreement on dividing assets and parted ways peacefully.
Previously, on her personal page, Jiyeon also sent a notice to fans: "We have decided to proceed with the divorce mediation procedure by mutual agreement. We hope you understand that we cannot quickly express our opinions. We will strive to appear before the public in a better way in the future."
Jiyeon and Hwang Jae Gyun got married in 2022. At first, the two lived a sweet, happy life, often sharing daily photos on their SNS accounts and personal YouTube channels.
By June 2023, the singer and her husband were constantly rumored to be divorcing. The incident was even mentioned by commentator Lee Kwang Gil during a live broadcast of a baseball game on KNN TV. However, Jiyeon's management company denied the information, saying that the information was baseless.
However, the rumors of a rift showed no signs of cooling down. The controversy escalated when Hwang Jae Gyun was caught drinking at a bar with acquaintances from evening until 6am. Jiyeon also removed her wedding ring in videos posted on YouTube.
The couple chose to remain silent until October 2024 when they announced their divorce. The legal representative of the T-ara member said: "The two sides could not overcome their differences, so after separating, they agreed to divorce. Finally, Jiyeon and her husband filed for divorce mediation with the Seoul Court to proceed with the procedure."
Thus, after nearly 2 years of marriage, Jiyeon and Hwang Jae Gyun officially "went their separate ways".
