Ha Giang - Video recording the moment a foreign tourist hugged a rooster while backpacking in Ha Giang in recent days has received great attention.

According to Lao Dong's research, the male tourist is Henry Clare, 19 years old, a member of a group of 10 young tourists from the UK. In early May, this group of tourists went on a 4-day motorbike tour in Ha Giang.

Hoang Van Khanh, the local tour guide for the group, said that the British tourist initially offered to buy a young goat in Ha Giang, but the owner did not sell. After that, Henry had the idea of buying a chicken.

Mr. Khanh took the Western tourist to Meo Vac market and suggested buying Chinese chicken or black chicken from the local people. Finally, Henry chose to buy a 1.3 kg rooster for 158,000 VND.

"On May 1, we started exploring Ha Giang. By the afternoon of May 2, around 4:30 p.m., I took Henry to the market to buy chickens; in the evening, around 8 a.m., the rooster lay one egg and the next day, May 3, around 7 a.m., the chicken lay another egg," said Mr. Khanh.

Mr. Khanh shared: "This is one of the few cases where tourists buy animals to bring. I personally find carrying chickens quite fun because I will have more companions on the way".

"Moreover, tourists also find their trip more enjoyable because they are not used to riding motorbikes and traveling such a long distance. A day, we drive 80 - 100 km but are often flexible in resting in the middle of the road so that visitors have the opportunity to sightsee and feel less tired," the tour guide added.

Henry always hugs the rooster while sitting behind the tour guide motorbike. He even carefully used a chain of plastic beans to tie the chicken feet like a pet.

According to Mr. Khanh, Henry's chicken was "very good", not porous on the way. The British guy really likes the chicken so much that he hugs and carries it to the bed with him.

Seeing the male tourist love the chick so much, Mr. Khanh also instructed Henry on how to take care of this animal. Khanh also prepared some corn and water for the chickens to drink because at that time, the weather was quite hot.

The group of British tourists during their visit to Ha Giang discovered many famous destinations such as Quan Ba sky gate, doi mountains, Lung Khuy cave, Tham Ma slope, Vuong Meo house, to Lung Cu flagpole, Ma Pi Leng, Khau Vai love market, Du Gia fairy waterfall. After that, the group ended at the first destination, Ha Giang city.

Mr. Khanh expressed: "I was really surprised that the video about Henry and the chicken attracted such great attention. Ha Giang was Henry's first destination when he arrived in Vietnam, after which he continued to visit Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh. However, at the end of the trip, he seemed a bit urgent, so I didn't have time to make friends and share about his remarkable moment of hugging chickens online."
