Vietnamese wife overcomes prejudice when marrying a Korean man who already has 2 children

Vietnamese wife marrying Korean husband suffers many scandals when her husband already has 2 rieng children.

The new "Newlyweds" program has the participation of Ms. Bich Ngan (36 years old) and Mr. Ji SeungUn - a Korean born in 1985, working as a hairdresser in Vietnam. From a working relationship, both entered marriage with no small pressure: husband has two rieng children, cultural differences and financial shocks that almost caused the family to collapse.

Appearing on the program stage, Ji SeungUn shared that he is Korean, came to Vietnam to do hair and salon business. His wife - Bich Ngan is also working in the hair sector (his employee), having worked for a time at an e-commerce company.

From being in charge of marketing for Ji SeungUn's salon, Ngan gradually understood how he operated his work. She used to have a coffee shop in the center of Ho Chi Minh City but Ji SeungUn suggested closing it to focus on working together. Interestingly, the two did not tell the story of "love at first sight" or love confessions. Ngan admitted that feelings came quietly: "We cooperate with each other more than love like in movies. There is empathy, we need each other to support".

The moment that made Ngan start "loving" her husband was when she witnessed Ji SeungUn crying, right in the period near the epidemic season. At that time, Ji SeungUn had to take care of her two children alone, both struggling economically and in mental crisis. Ngan shared that she saw in her husband the image of a talented man but also sometimes fragile and exhausted. From then on, empathy gradually turned into attachment.

Ji SeungUn used to have a family before. According to the story, his ex-wife returned to Korea, he stayed in Vietnam to take care of his two children. Ngan said that she had endured many rumors, especially from rumors in her hometown (Dak Lak) that she was a third person. But she affirmed that she was not a "third person" and always kept a distance in work before the relationship became clear. "What only husband and wife understand about each other," she said, and also said that Ji SeungUn is a private person.

The milestone that led the two to live together also stemmed from the epidemic. When COVID-19 broke out, Ngan returned home to save money and moved in together. Ji SeungUn saw her suitcase in the salon and immediately "packed it up and went home", suggesting living together to "save together". From then on, Ngan both went to work and helped take care of Ji SeungUn's two children.

Her biggest clashes in the role of stepmother are the process of creating trust with her children. Young children quickly become attached, while older children have a long time "not talking for a month". Ngan chooses not to force: "Whatever is tried without sincerity is not sustainable". Only when the child had a high fever due to COVID-19, Ngan panicked, both taking care of and crying, did the children gradually feel true attachment.

Not only having emotional challenges, the couple also experienced a financial downturn in the period from 2023 to early 2025. Ngan recounted that her family used to have many businesses but had to pay nearly half, personnel left, the eldest child became rebellious, and overwhelming pressure caused Ji SeungUn to fall into severe depression. He drank alcohol every day, quit his job, Ngan alone shouldered the burden for many weeks. The peak was when Ji SeungUn was hospitalized for emergency treatment due to high blood pressure and shortness of breath; the doctor diagnosed him with severe depression and needed family encouragement.

In the fun "badmouthing" part, Ji SeungUn was accused by his wife of being meticulous, difficult, even "arranging sandals in the right place", buying a large dining table because of the "lucky" news. Conversely, Ji SeungUn complained that his wife was messy, leaving things scattered after eating and watching movies. However, both admitted that the difference made them learn to understand and accompany each other.
