As of the morning of January 31, the revenue of the movie "The Four Guardians" has reached 93 billion VND, according to data from the independent box office statistics unit Box Office Vietnam. This figure includes the number of tickets booked in advance for the coming days.
On January 31, Tran Thanh's film was scheduled to have 6,079 screenings, an increase from the previous two days. Meanwhile, two other Vietnamese films released during Tet, "Nu hon bac billion" and "Yeu phan ban than" had 1,789 and 1,137 screenings, respectively.
According to the producer's announcement, "The Four Guardians" is the movie in the Vietnamese market with the highest opening day revenue of all time, at 31.6 billion VND.
With the overwhelming number of screenings, revenue, and tickets sold, the work that topped the box office accounted for 80% of the total market revenue during Tet.
"The Billion Dollar Kiss" is the first work directed by Thu Trang, currently has more than 11 billion VND, with about 1,700 screenings per day.
Meanwhile, the movie "Love by mistake best friend" starring Kaity Nguyen, Thanh Son, Ngoc Vang only achieved a revenue of 4 billion VND. At one point, this movie ranked behind the animated movie "Paddington: The Adventures of Paddington".
Box Office believes that a well-invested and promoted film shown during Tet will have good revenue, and "The Four Guardians" is likely to reach 600 billion VND, setting a new record for Vietnamese cinema.
The release of the movie "The Four Guardians" far surpassed the movie "Mai" - Tran Thanh's 2024 Tet release.
Director Tran Thanh shared about the 2025 Tet project: "I have never been satisfied with any of my projects, including the movie "Mai". Because I always see my shortcomings in the projects I do, including "The Four Guardians".
With every film project that comes out, I always wish I could do it again. But I think everything happens for a reason. So, instead of complaining, I see it as an experience."
