According to Big Hit Entertainment, the exact number of viewers for the BTS' online concert has reached a whopping 993,000 people. Not only that, this number of followers also comes from 191 countries and territories around the world.
The concert, titled " Map of the soul ON:E," was held in Seoul for two days, October 10-11. Initially, the music event was scheduled to be held live and via streaming. However, due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the concert was only broadcast online.
The show includes performances of songs from their most recent album Map of the soul: 7 as well as the digital single Dynamite. This is the song that helped the 7 boys make history by becoming the first Korean band to hold the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart - the chart of best-selling singles in the US market in a week.
Along with that, " Map of the soul ON:E" is BTS's second concert held online, after a similar event called "Bang Bang Con: The Live" in June this year. The event also attracted 756,000 followers from 107 countries and territories.
Thus, this year, BTS's two online concerts have sold about 1.75 million tickets, not too far from the 2 million tickets for the "Love Youself World Tour" world tour last year with 62 shows.
