On March 7, Showbox distributors announced that Jun Ji Hyun will appear in the new movie Colony with the cast of Ji Chang Wook, Go Soo, Koo Kyo Hwan, Shin Hyun Been and Kim Shin Rok.
Colony tells the story of a building blocked by an unidentified virus, where infected people are transformed into unpredictable forms, threatening survivors.
This is the latest project of director Yeon Sang Ho, who is behind popular Korean films such as Train to Busan, Peninusla, Hellbound and Parasyte: The Grey.
Notably, Colony is also Jun Ji Hyuns first film in 10 years since Assassination - the work that helped her win Best Actress at the Golden bell Film Awards in 2015.

Jun Ji Hyun, Ji Chang Wook and Go Soo will have their first collaboration with director Yeon Sang Ho. Meanwhile, Koo Kyo Hwan, Shin Hyun Been and Kim Shin Rok have shown their understanding with the male director in some previous projects.
Director Yeon Sang Ho shared: I have started a long journey with great actors and staff, with the goal of introducing high-quality entertainment works that audiences can enjoy at the cinema.
I am very excited and standing at the starting line with great expectations. Please show great interest and expectation for the work".
Colony officially began filming in March 2025.
Since the 2021 drama "The Mysterious Mountain Jiri", Jun Ji Hyun has not had a new film. For the past 4 years, the actress has mainly focused on business activities, real estate investment and family care. Therefore, the return of the beauty of "Why did you come here?" has many audiences looking forward to.
This year, in addition to filming Colony, Jun Ji Hyun has a TV series waiting to air, Disney+s Tempest, co-starring with Kang Dong Won.
In particular, in the context that many "beauty icons" over 40 years old on the Korean screen such as Song Hye Kyo and Son Ye Jin are also having new film projects that attract attention, Jun Ji Hyun's activities are receiving even more attention.
