On the afternoon of June 12, the Ministry of Education and Training held a press conference to announce information about the 2026 high school graduation exam.
Mr. Le My Phong - Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training - said that this year's exam is basically stable as in 2025. This is the 2nd year of exams according to the 2018 program and the first year of implementation according to the 2-level government operating mechanism.
With the spirit of 6 clarity, the Ministry of Education and Training has issued many important documents, organized many training conferences, and thoroughly grasped them to effectively implement the exam. Also according to Mr. Phong, ministries, branches, and localities have closely coordinated, especially when there are unusual situations.

Regarding the exam questions, according to Mr. Phong, the Ministry of Education and Training has coordinated with the Government Cipher Committee to transport the exam questions safely and seriously according to regulations. Regarding the work of preventing high-tech fraud.
According to the assessment of the Ministry of Education and Training, up to now, information leaking exam questions on the internet has not been detected as in some previous years.
Regarding supporting candidates participating in the exam, this work has been of particular concern to the Exam Steering Committee, the entire political system has been involved and especially the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Vietnam Student Association, and Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union organizations in localities have actively implemented the "Exam Season Support" program, participating in ensuring security and safety for the exam.
There were 74 candidates suspended from the high school graduation exam, including 69 candidates bringing mobile phones into the exam room and 5 candidates using materials. No officials violated the regulations. Organized fraud has not been detected yet.

This year's high school graduation exam takes place in 2 days, June 11-12. According to data from the Ministry of Education and Training, the total number of candidates submitting applications for the exam is: 1,223,776, an increase of 61,642 compared to 2025. 100% of candidates have been able to register for the exam online.
The number of candidates taking the exam is: 1,213,695 candidates, accounting for 99.18% of the total number of registered candidates.
The total number of exam sites nationwide is 2,478; the total number of exam rooms is 54,409. Exam sites located in localities where candidates study have helped candidates not have to travel far, not have to worry about accommodation, creating a calmer and more confident mindset when doing the test, and at the same time not causing traffic pressure in major cities.
Departments of Education and Training have well implemented legal regulations to ensure safety, seriousness and absolute confidentiality for exam questions" - Mr. Le My Phong, Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management, Ministry of Education and Training said.
Registration data of the Ministry of Education and Training shows that the trend of choosing subjects in the STEM field continues to increase. Industrial technology is the subject with the strongest growth rate with more than 204%, followed by informatics increasing by more than 142%. History is the elective subject with the largest number of registered candidates with 570,800 students.
