In the 2025-2026 school year, the whole Dak Lak province has more than 706,000 students studying at 1,379 educational institutions. Of which, nearly 30% are ethnic minority students.
The large scale and diverse geographical and social characteristics make the implementation of the collection and expenditure work at the beginning of the school year always an issue of public concern and parents' concern.
Ms. H'Van Nie (residing in Ea Kao ward, Dak Lak) said that her family has two children in primary and secondary school.
This year, she was very happy when the state implemented a policy of exempting tuition fees for students. This will help the family save a significant amount of money, especially in the current difficult economic times.
In addition to the joy, Ms. H'Van also expressed her hope that voluntary collection at the school should be carried out publicly, clearly and appropriately. Thus, parents reduce the cost of raising children to study.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Da, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province, said that every year, before the school year, the Department has a document guiding the official revenue and expenditure for public educational institutions to implement.
The document guiding the requirements for publicizing the budget estimate, transparency of spending, and organizing a parent meeting before collecting any fees.
Schools are required to comply with the following principles: Only collect fees according to regulations, absolutely do not set additional fees outside regulations, do not take advantage of the name of socialization to collect in violation of regulations.
At the same time, functional units are also assigned the task of strengthening inspection, supervision, timely detection and handling of violations if any.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Da added that this year the Department has not issued a document guiding revenue and expenditure for schools with many new factors affecting the education sector such as: Complete the arrangement of district and commune-level administrative units nationwide; Implement the two-level government model; Start implementing Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development.
With the above new points, the Department of Education and Training will collect opinions from relevant units to complete documents guiding the fees and expenditures at the beginning of the school year for schools. After having the document, the Department will deploy it to schools for implementation.
Mr. Truong Cong Thai, Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee, said that the province has given a comprehensive directive to schools.
All revenue and expenditure must be public, transparent, and agreed with parents before implementation. Violations will be strictly handled.
Principals must be responsible to the Provincial People's Committee and the law if violations occur.
