According to the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training, due to many roads and streets having fallen trees, lights, traffic lights, signs, and communication lines, causing serious traffic jams; traffic activities being delayed and interrupted; electricity, water, and environmental sanitation... not being guaranteed, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training decided to let students in the entire city take a two-day break from school on September 9-10.
After the storm passed, the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training established 5 working groups to directly go to the educational institutions that were greatly affected to inspect, urge, and direct the overcoming of the consequences of the storm; directed units to coordinate with the ward police forces, militia, neighborhood groups, volunteer forces: parents of students... to overcome the consequences, organize the cleaning of school landscapes, strengthen disease prevention measures, inventory the damage... basically completed on September 10.
Regarding the next school break for kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools, based on the actual situation of overcoming the consequences of the storm at educational institutions, the local Department of Education and Training will advise the People's Committee of the district to decide on the specific school day.
For high schools and multi-level general schools with high school level, the Department of Education and Training will give separate instructions.
According to the Hai Phong Department of Education and Training, the contents to be implemented immediately to overcome the consequences caused by storm No. 3 include continuing to organize inspections, assessments, and detailed statistics of damage; classifying the level of damage to have appropriate remedial plans; coordinating with functional forces to ensure school security and safety, and disease prevention...
The Department of Education and Training requested the People's Committee of Hai Phong City to pay attention to and allocate funds to repair essential and urgent works, first of all, prioritizing the repair and restoration of classrooms to ensure teaching and learning activities; At the same time, direct functional forces to ensure traffic safety, organize warnings of dangers to traffic routes; restore electricity and water supply; restore telecommunications infrastructure systems; drain flood water, clean the environment... to ensure teaching and learning conditions when students return to school.
For the People's Committees of districts, it is recommended to prioritize ensuring human resources, material resources, and funding to repair damage to school facilities, first of all classrooms.
