This is the second time the band's bands and groups of high school students are held. This year's festival has the theme "Building a happy school".
This year's festival has 37 teams from 37 high schools participating, an increase of 3 teams compared to the first festival, including public and private high schools; Vocational education centers - continuing education, international schools. A special feature of this festival is the participation of some international students and blind students.
Speaking at the opening of the Festival, Mr. Tran The Cuong - Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training - said that the second group of bands and groups of Hanoi High School students is a series of activities to realize the targets and criteria at the proposal of the UNESCO organization on the proposal to recognize Hanoi as a creative city in the network of global cities. "More specifically, this activity is also aimed at celebrating the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and the reunification of the country" - he said.
Mr. Cuong expressed that, through the festival, the students not only show music talents but also learn valuable lessons about solidarity, confidence and teamwork. These skills will be an important luggage when they enter the future path.
Through this, the Director of Hanoi Department of Education and Training suggested that schools and educational institutions in the city should pay more attention to cultural, sports and art education, especially music; Develop a specific plan to bring music close to students and create conditions for bands and groups to live, practice, perform inside and outside the school.
In the opening competition, the children of Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary & High School brought the "four quarter" concert, combined with the song Nguyen Tat Thanh and the song Ho on the mountain. The students confidently performed and combined many different ethnic instruments such as flute, piano, moon, drums ... They are also members of the ethnic instrument club at the school.
Nguyen Ha Linh - 11th grade student, Nguyen Tat Thanh Secondary & High School - shared: "The concert and the songs we bring to today's festival with the desire to bring new and joyful atmosphere, good things - suitable for this year's topic is to build a happy school".
Taking on the position of playing Nguyet in the team, Ha Linh said, it took him 2 years to practice playing this instrument. Before that, I also spent 4 years to practice playing flute.
She said that at the school, ethnic instruments were included in the curriculum of all students (except for grade 9 and 12) with a duration of 2 periods/week. The school's ethnic instrument club is also active, responded by many students.
"Therefore, we have the environment to practice playing traditional musical instruments. The teams in the team all have very good ability and we only take about 1 month to work together to take the exam," she said.
In addition, students from many high schools in the city have also brought many special and attractive performance; Demonstrate talent and confidence to perform on the big stage.
According to the rules, the group of bands/groups of Hanoi High School students includes 2 rounds. The preliminary round takes place in 3 days, from April 14 to April 16. The final round will be held on April 28 at the Vietnam - Soviet Friendship Labor Culture Palace.
