Nghe An - The province approves nearly 4,900 targets for considering professional title promotion for teachers and education management officials in 2026.

On June 16, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that the province has just issued a document agreeing on targets for considering promotion to professional titles of civil servants for teachers and education managers in 2026.

Accordingly, the total number of targets approved in this phase is nearly 4,900, including units directly under the department and public employees of the Education sector under the People's Committees of communes and wards.

For the block of units directly under the department, the People's Committee of Nghe An province agreed on 596 promotion targets, including 73 targets for management officials and 523 targets for teachers.

Specifically, high schools and Vocational Education - Continuing Education Centers have 542 quotas for promotion from rank III to rank II. Some high schools with a high number of teachers considered for promotion include: Le Viet Thuat High School, Yen Thanh 3 High School, Ky Son High School with 12 quotas each school; Dien Chau 4 High School, Thanh Chuong 3 High School with 11 quotas; Nam Dan 2 High School and Nghi Loc 5 High School with 10 quotas.

In other levels of education, Hoa Sen Kindergarten is assigned 5 targets, the Provincial Center for Education - Vocational Training for People with Disabilities has 3 targets and Quy Chau Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School is allocated 1 target.

Notably, this is the first time teachers in the vocational education block have been promoted, with 49 targets, including 2 targets of rank III and 47 targets of rank II. In which, Nghe An Economic - Industrial - Handicrafts Secondary School is allocated 7 rank II targets; Mekong Delta Economic - Technical Secondary School, Yen Thanh Technical Secondary School and Nghe An Ethnic Minority Boarding Secondary School are assigned from 5 - 6 targets each unit.

In addition to units directly under the department, the People's Committee of Nghe An province also approved a plan to promote professional titles for civil servants of the Education sector under the People's Committees of communes and wards with 4,304 targets from rank III to rank II.

Among these, preschool teachers are allocated the most with 2,762 targets; primary school teachers have 1,290 targets; secondary school has 21 teacher targets and 7 management staff targets. In addition, there are 139 targets for preschool management staff and 85 targets for primary school management staff.

According to the People's Committee of Nghe An province, the approval of the target for professional title promotion aims to solve the needs for job positions, ensure the career development roadmap for teachers, and at the same time create motivation for teachers to continue to improve their professional qualifications.

Previously, teacher promotion had been implemented by the Nghe An Education sector for many years. However, due to many reasons, the rate of teacher promotion at some levels of education and schools is still low.

The rate of secondary school teachers being promoted to rank II has reached over 83%, while preschool level only reached 32.82%, primary level reached 50.1% and high school about 45%. In particular, some schools have a rate of teachers being promoted below 10%.

According to functional sectors, the promotion of teacher professional titles is not only based on the standards and conditions of each individual but must also be consistent with the needs of use, staff structure, job positions approved by competent authorities and the ability to balance the salary fund according to regulations.

Therefore, promotion consideration will be implemented in stages, prioritizing cases that meet the conditions and are suitable for the job position needs of each unit and locality.
