Catch up early
This summer, Ms. Nguyen Kim Thanh (Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city ) registered her son to participate in some cultural classes to help him catch up early before the back-to-school season.
“This year, when my son enters first grade, the learning environment will be much different from when he was in kindergarten. Therefore, I registered her for some classes such as handwriting, preparing for first grade, drawing... at the Children's Cultural House of Ninh Kieu district to get acquainted first," Ms. Thanh said.
According to Ms. Thanh, when registering for these classes, not only does it help her son catch up early, it is not too confusing when entering a new learning environment, but it also limits her son's time spent on devices. electronics during the summer.
Meanwhile, due to lack of transportation, Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc Anh (Ninh Kieu district, Can Tho city) is willing to hire a tutor with a high tuition fee to tutor her daughter. Ms. Ngoc Anh shared that tutors are hired through referral centers and have skills and certificates related to pedagogy, so she feels quite secure.
"My child is about to enter first grade, but my husband and I are both busy with work and don't have time for tutoring, so we decided to hire a tutor to teach our child. Mainly for the child to get familiar with numbers, practice writing... Tuition is 2 million VND/8 sessions, 3-4 times higher than courses at the center but in return it is convenient for the family as well as the daughter. will be tutored more carefully," Ms. Ngoc Anh said.
Prioritize your child's interests
In order for learning to be effective, Ms. Thanh said, she often puts her child's interests and aspirations first. At the same time, do not arrange a tight study schedule so that your child can truly enjoy the summer vacation.
“All courses have time for children to experience 1-2 sessions. After most of these sessions, my son liked it and learned well, so I let him continue studying. For me, although I want my son to catch up early before starting the new school year, agreeing or not agreeing to participate in classes must be based on the child's voluntary participation. That way, my child will be excited to study and achieve the desired results," Ms. Thanh expressed.
Sharing the same opinion, Ms. Ngoc Anh shared that the first thing she considers when hiring a tutor to teach her child is not the tuition fee or the teacher's requirements, but her daughter's wishes.
“Even though she is still young, everything is decided by her parents, but we often prioritize our daughter's interests and desires first. In order not to affect our child's summer vacation , my husband and I try to arrange reasonable study time and create conditions for our child to participate in other fun, entertainment, and sports activities. Especially, after each lesson, in addition to feedback from the tutor, we also listen to our children to make adjustments," Ms. Ngoc Anh said.
