The above information was shared by Mr. Huynh Van Chuong - Director of Quality Management Department, Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) - at the Conference to summarize the organization of high school graduation exams for the period 2020-2024 and prepare for high school graduation exams from 2025.
Mr. Huynh Van Chuong said that the results of the high school graduation exam for the period 2020-2024, statistics show that the average score of Social Science subjects increases slightly every year. In contrast, the scores of Natural Science subjects are stable and lower.
This is one of the reasons why candidates tend to choose the Social Science exam. "This is also a somewhat disadvantageous factor between the combinations when considering university admissions. We are researching to find a fair solution between the combinations," said Mr. Chuong.
Regarding the orientation of organizing the high school graduation exam from 2025, the Director of the Department of Quality Management expects that all candidates (including independent candidates) will be able to register online.
Each candidate takes 4 subjects, including 2 compulsory subjects and 2 elective subjects, so there will be 36 admission combinations, making it more convenient for candidates.
Regarding exam room arrangement, candidates are arranged in only one exam room during all exam sessions.
The exam has a new format structure, increasing differentiation. Graduation recognition will use the exam scores and the results of the 3-year assessment process at a ratio of 50-50.
It is expected that the high school graduation exam from 2025 will still use foreign language certificates to exempt from the exam, but will not be converted into 10 points in graduation recognition consideration.
Regarding incentive points, the Ministry of Education and Training is seeking opinions on not adding points to vocational certificates because the new general education program no longer regulates vocational education activities like the old program.
In addition, in the high school graduation exam, there will be no points added for IT certificates, foreign languages, and intermediate degrees for continuing education candidates because the new continuing education program at high school level is equivalent to the current general education program at high school level. After completing the program, students will take the same high school graduation exam as high school students, with the same output standards and program requirements.
The test bank will be open, and the expected method of transferring test papers will be through the Government Cipher Committee. Inspection and examination will also be carried out according to the new method.
