Along with that, many relatives of the children were present at the hospital in a very worried mood.
As soon as the incident was reported, leaders of Lai Chau province, the Department of Health, and the Department of Education and Training were promptly present at Lai Chau General Hospital to direct the emergency response.

Teacher Dinh Thi Huong - teacher at Giang Ma Kindergarten said that the kindergarten class has 20 students and 2 teachers in charge. When the incident happened, 1 teacher was using the toilet and the other was cleaning the children.
At around 8:30 a.m., the teacher discovered that some students were holding rat poison pills in their hands. Suspecting that the students might have eaten the rat poison like candy, the teacher contacted the staff of the commune health station to take 20 students to the provincial general hospital for emergency treatment.
Informing reporters, Mr. Ma A Tua - Vice Chairman of Giang Ma Commune People's Committee - said that the rat poison above was ordered online by a teacher of the school to kill rats. By the afternoon of November 4, many rat poison pills had been peeled off to kill rats at the school's warehouse. However, this warehouse is connected to the classrooms and the teachers of the classes were not informed, leading to the above incident.
As of the afternoon of November 5, a representative of the Lai Chau General Hospital said that the health of all the children is currently stable. In the next 24 to 72 hours, the children will continue to be monitored at the hospital to ensure their safety.
