In the traditional house of the H'Mong people in Lao Kho village, Phieng Khoai commune, Mr. Trang Lao Lu, son of Mr. Trang Lao Kho, still preserves memories of the years when people took care of the Lao - Bac Shock Committee led by Comrade Kaysone Phomvihane.

Mr. Lu recounted that in the period 1948-1951, Phieng Sa village (now Lao Kho) became a stopover for the Lao revolutionary forces. Mr. Trang Lao Kho's family and villagers wholeheartedly protected and hid cadres, keeping secrets for the revolutionary forces to build bases and expand operations to Xieng Kho and many northern regions of Laos.
My father always taught his children and grandchildren to keep their word, be united and value learning. If villages want to develop, they must have knowledge, have successors to build their homeland," Mr. Lu shared.

That spirit is preserved and promoted by generations of the Trang lineage through the movement to encourage learning and talent. Since 2012, the Trang lineage Association for Promoting Education has been established with 40 households, now expanding to 65 households, with more than 270 members.
Teacher Trang Lao To, Head of the Trang Family Association for Promoting Education, said that right from its establishment, the association has developed operating regulations, mobilized families to pay attention to the education of their children and grandchildren, and at the same time supported students in difficult circumstances so that no one had to drop out of school.
Every year, families contribute to building a scholarship fund to reward students with high achievements and support the cost of studying far away. We hope our children and grandchildren understand that knowledge is the shortest way to escape poverty and contribute to their homeland," teacher To said.
To date, the Trang family has many people studying at colleges and universities, and more than 20 officials, civil servants, and public employees working in the locality. For many consecutive years, 100% of families in the family have achieved the title of studious families.
Not only focusing on studying, families also actively develop the economy to create conditions for their children to go to school.
Mr. Trang Lao Tang, Lao Kho village, said that his family has converted more than 2 hectares of land to grow plums, and at the same time planted more than 100 Tai Nung pear trees that have yielded fruit. In addition, the family also grows hybrid corn, raises livestock, and earns over 200 million VND per year.
A stable economy helps the family feel secure in investing in their children's education. I always encourage them to study properly to have a better future," Mr. Tang shared.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Toan, Vice Chairman of Phieng Khoai Commune People's Committee, the Trang family is one of the typical examples of economic development associated with building a learning society in the locality.
Not only preserving the revolutionary tradition and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, the Trang family also spreads the spirit of studiousness and encouragement to the community. This is an important foundation contributing to improving the quality of human resources and promoting socio-economic development in the border region," Mr. Toan assessed.

From revolutionary traditions nurtured through many generations to the movement of studiousness and aspiration to rise up with knowledge, the Trang family in Lao Kho today is continuing to write a beautiful story about a border region rich in affection, where historical values and the spirit of learning are preserved and promoted for a sustainable future.
