On May 23, 886 Thanh Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company - the unit managing the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway - had staff inspect and fix the positions of protective fences that were cut and damaged along the route.
According to records, the road patrol unit has re-weighed the barbed wire fence at Km231+280 on the left side of the route and continues to handle other locations such as at Km223 and many other cut-off points.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reflected that many positions of the fence protecting the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway section from Km234 (Phan Thiet intersection area) to Km208 (Ma Lam intersection) were cut and destroyed, creating large holes.
This situation poses a risk of traffic unsafety when livestock and motorcyclists can enter the highway.
Recently, on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, illegal motorbikes have continuously appeared. Many cases make car drivers startled and steer to avoid, causing the risk of traffic accidents.
Over the past time, 886 Thanh Nam Construction Investment Joint Stock Company has repeatedly organized to re-fence the positions of the broken fence.
At the same time, the People's Committee of Lam Dong province has issued a document directing localities with expressways passing through to coordinate with commune police to propagate to people not to cut down expressway protection fences, not to graze livestock in traffic safety corridors. However, this situation still continues.
The route management unit said that cases of motorbikes entering the expressway originate from many different reasons. There are cases where even though they have been stopped by staff at intersections, motorbike drivers still intentionally overtake checkpoints to continue entering the route.
Currently, the entire Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, more than 100km long, passing through Lam Dong province, has been installed with a camera monitoring system connected to the traffic control center.
When motorbikes are detected entering the expressway, the route management force will quickly approach the scene to remove people and vehicles from the route to ensure traffic safety.
However, to thoroughly prevent the situation of motorbikes and livestock entering the expressway, in addition to the inspection and control of functional forces, the compliance awareness of traffic participants and people living near the expressway is very necessary.
