Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) has just announced the Senior Personnel Decision according to resolutions and decisions issued by the Board of Directors on June 16, 2026.
Accordingly, the Board of Directors of BIDV elected Mr. Le Ngoc Lam to hold the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of BIDV for the term 2022 - 2027, the term of office will take effect from July 1st.
The new Chairman of BIDV's Board of Directors was born in 1975. Joining BIDV in 1997, he has nearly 30 years of working experience and attachment to this bank. During his work process, he has held many important management positions such as: Deputy Director of Credit Risk Management Board, Deputy Director of Transaction Office 1, Director of Credit Risk Management Board, Director of Corporate Customer Department and Deputy General Director of BIDV. In March 2021, he was appointed to hold the position of Member of the Board of Directors cum General Director of BIDV.
Holding the position of General Director of BIDV with a term of appointment of 5 years is Mr. Hoang Viet Hung. Before being appointed, Mr. Hoang Viet Hung held the position of Deputy General Director of BIDV.
The new General Director of BIDV, born in 1972 and joined the bank in 1996. With nearly 30 years of working at BIDV, he has held many important management and administration positions in the system. Before being appointed as General Director, he held the positions of Deputy General Director of BIDV, Director of Organization and Personnel Department, Director of BIDV Nghe An.
In addition, BIDV appointed Mr. Le Huy Hoang to hold the position of Deputy General Director of BIDV. Mr. Le Huy Hoang was previously Director of the Bank's Personnel and Organization Department. The term of appointment is 5 years, effective from July 1, 2026.
The Board of Directors of BIDV also decided to appoint Mr. Vu Hoang Duong to hold the position of Deputy General Director of BIDV. Before being appointed, Mr. Vu Hoang Duong was Director of BIDV Transaction Office Branch 1. The term of appointment is 5 years, effective from July 1, 2026.
As of the end of the first quarter of 2026, BIDV recorded total operating income (TOI) reaching 20,496 billion VND, an increase of 15.3% compared to the same period last year. Net interest income continued to be the main driving force for growth when reaching 15,734 billion VND, an increase of 12.8%.
In addition, non-interest income sources maintained their upward momentum. In which, net profit from service activities reached VND 1,625 billion, up 5.6%; foreign exchange trading activities brought in VND 1,108 billion, up 28.2%. Notably, net profit from other activities increased sharply by 70%, to VND 2,067 billion. Meanwhile, the securities segment recorded negative results.
Although risk provision expenses increased by 5%, to 5,498 billion VND, BIDV's pre-tax profit still reached 8,572 billion VND in the first quarter of the year, up 15.6% over the same period.
