According to information from Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN), a new situation of fraud with fake OTP messages has recently appeared.
Some electricity customers said that they suddenly received a message with the sender's name "EVN CSKH", the message content contained information including a fake 6-digit "OTP code", and the message also included a strange link containing the character "evn" but the end of the domain name was different from usual.
EVN affirmed that this is a new fraud trick using fake OTP messages from bad guys to defraud and steal personal information, bank accounts and customer data.
For the EVN CSKH application that was recently put into testing from June 15, 2026, EVN said that users only receive messages containing OTP authentication code when logging in for the first time or authenticating transactions when using the EVN CSKH application. At the same time, real OTP messages that users receive when using the EVN CSKH application are not attached to any links.
To ensure information security, EVN recommends that people and electricity customers be vigilant against new scams using fake OTP messages as above. Users need to pay attention to the following:
1. Absolutely do not click on strange links sent via messages, emails, social networks or messaging applications claiming to be EVN.
2. Do not provide OTP codes, passwords, bank account information or personal information to any websites, organizations, or individuals claiming to be electricity or EVN employees.
3. Only download and use the Customer Care app "EVN CSKH" from the official app stores of Google Play and App Store. Customers need to carefully check the app name, publisher and absolutely do not install the app from strange links of unknown origin.
When detecting suspicious fake or fraudulent messages, customers can contact the Customer Care switchboard of Power Corporations for support and information verification.
