The Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Planning and Investment and the Department of Transport (MOT) of the province to implement the prescribed steps.
Previously, on December 8, 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway project was issued a Resolution by the People's Council of Binh Duong province approving the investment policy for the section through Binh Duong province according to the public-private partnership (PPP) method.
The project has its starting point at Ring Road 3 of Ho Chi Minh City in Thuan An city, Binh Duong province. The end point is at the border of Binh Duong province and Binh Phuoc province. The total length of the route is about 45.7 km. The project to build a highway with a design speed of 100km/h is a level I traffic project. Total investment of the project is 17,408.39 billion VND.
Currently, the People's Committee of Binh Duong province has issued a decision to allocate an additional 4,000 billion VND to the medium-term public investment plan of central budget capital for the period 2021-2025 from the general reserve source corresponding to the increase in central budget revenue in 2022. for the Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway construction project.
On September 2, it is expected to sign a construction investment contract and start construction of the Ho Chi Minh City - Chon Thanh expressway project. The project will be constructed for nearly 3 years, completed on June 30, 2027.
It is known that on the Ho Chi Minh City side, the expressway starts from Go Dua intersection (Thu Duc city) along Binh Chieu street to DT 743 to Binh Duong.
Ho Chi Minh City plans to spend 3,300 billion VND to invest in this 60m wide highway path, of which site clearance costs are about 1,660 billion VND. The scale of this route has been updated in the general planning project of Thu Duc City in Ho Chi Minh City until 2040. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has also assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport to prepare a pre-feasibility study report, proposing investment policies for the high-speed section. This speed will be implemented in the period 2024 - 2028.
On the Binh Phuoc province side, the 6.6km long highway section has a total capital of 1,474 billion VND. Binh Phuoc province is also accelerating the process of implementing legal procedures to start the project this year.
