As one of the pioneering companies in applying AI to production in the garment industry, Viet Thang Jean Company has applied it in software system management, modeling...
Previously, machines had to be recorded manually when operating. With AI applications, you only need to connect to the server to check where all the goods are and how the machine is running.
Assessing the application of AI in the production line, Mr. Pham Van Viet - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Viet Thang Jean Company, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Textile, Embroidery and Knitting Association said that the effectiveness of this application is very good, but it still depends on the network system.
Applying AI in the production line reduces about 50% of data management work. Previously, data needed to be reported, but now it is not necessary. Everything is available, just need to go to the application to grasp it.
At the same time, it helps reduce operating costs by up to 70%, ensuring quantity and quality. Departments do not have to worry about input, just need to handle their work, data information is 99% accurate.
Before AI application, the design was not close to the market, the cost was high, now just a touch button on the electronic screen has helped reduce the cost by more than 80%. In terms of time, 6 months ago, now only 15 days of production, all information is transparent about the process, data only needs to be done once.
“7-8 years ago, when it comes to improving technology, applying AI would still be difficult, but after applying it, I saw that the number of workers decreased but output increased 3-4 times compared to before.
Previously, it took 100 people to develop a model, but after AI, it only takes 15 people. When you want to sell a model, just apply AI, you can change the color, style... very quickly" - Mr. Pham Van Viet said.
However, to successfully deploy it, people and capital are needed. AI requires high technology to connect manufacturing machines together and high-quality human resources.
Dony Garment Company Limited is also flexible, adapts to digital transformation, invests in technology, builds a reasonable production management system, helps improve labor productivity, and has more orders.
Mr. Pham Quang Anh - Director of Dony Garment Company Limited said that the company has applied more machine technology in production.
In which, the use of pattern making and design of models was previously done by hand, but now it is used through software, this is the most effective shift.
At the same time, low-efficiency machines will be invested in and replaced by the company. There are stages that only require conventional mechanical robots - which can bring efficiency.
"This conversion helps save a lot of material costs due to optimization such as computer diagrams, computer pattern making... and helps save half the time.
Digital transformation and AI application are world trends, so we are also very interested and boldly invest in machinery to have practical exposure and experience so that in the future we can deploy synchronously and quickly" - Mr. Pham Quang Anh shared.
Companies in the textile industry also appreciate that 3D technology and artificial intelligence (AI) are creating a revolution thanks to their ability to predict and optimize production processes.
According to Mr. Vu Duc Giang - Chairman of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), in recent times, one of the outstanding successes of the Vietnamese textile and garment industry is the application of modern technology such as robots, AI, and 3D technology in the production process.
In particular, artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming increasingly important in developing new product models. AI helps Vietnamese textile and garment enterprises to be more proactive in creating and producing models, increasing transparency and the ability to control the entire production process, from fibers, weaving to storage and transportation of goods, etc.
