On November 3, the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province said that in the strategy "Developing domestic trade until 2030, with a vision to 2045", the unit continues to strengthen propaganda to raise awareness of businesses and people about online business on e-commerce platforms.
According to the Gia Lai Provincial Statistics Office, the province's total retail sales of goods and service revenue in 2022 will reach VND 47,017,946 million; in 2023, it will reach VND 55,171,855 million; in 2024, it is estimated to reach VND 60,771,000 million, and in 2025, it strives to reach VND 66,500,000 million under normal conditions.
Gia Lai province's export turnover in 2023 will reach 680 million USD; estimated to reach 750 million USD in 2024; the plan for 2025 is estimated to reach 850 million USD.
In recent years, the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province has connected many businesses to participate in trade fairs, implementing 7 pilot models of Vietnamese sales points in the districts of Chu Puh, Chu Pah, Chu Prong, Dak Po, Dak Doa, Krong Pa, and Mang Yang.
Every year, the provincial Department of Industry and Trade regularly organizes the "Border Market at Le Thanh International Border Gate" with 60 booths; introducing OCOP products, typical products of Gia Lai.
In the process of implementing trade promotion, besides the advantages, Gia Lai province still has certain difficulties such as: large administrative boundaries, sparse population, trade promotion work cannot be spread throughout the regions.
The ability of Gia Lai enterprises to adapt to international economic integration is still challenging due to many reasons. Particularly in a mountainous province, agricultural production is still greatly affected by the weather.
Meanwhile, the processing industry is not high, so the added value of goods is low, reducing competitiveness.
Mr. Pham Van Binh - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province said that in the coming time, the unit will implement the plan to develop logistics services for the period 2023 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 in the field of industry and trade. In particular, the unit will participate in coordinating and proposing the development of a logistics center of appropriate scale.
The Department deploys a digital system for tracing the origin of domestic goods, promoting the responsibility of enterprises for the quality of goods circulating on the market.
The Department also coordinates training in online business skills on social networks and e-commerce platforms.
Specialists support and facilitate businesses and people to build websites; brand sets; provide management software... to participate in reputable e-commerce platforms and expand the output market for products.
