World gasoline prices today
After a year of strong fluctuations, the global oil market has entered a new phase with many mixed cautious factors.
For the whole year of 2025, Brent and WTI oil prices both decreased by nearly 20%, the sharpest decrease since 2020. Notably, this is also the third consecutive year Brent oil prices have fallen, recording the longest series of price decreases in history.
In the past week, world oil prices fluctuated with a small range. Ending the week, WTI crude oil from 56.74 USD/barrel last weekend edged up to 57.32 USD/barrel. Overall last week, WTI oil increased by 0.58 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 1.02% compared to the previous week.
Similarly, Brent oil increased slightly compared to last week. Brent oil price rose from 60.64 USD/barrel last weekend to 60.75 USD/barrel at the end of this week. Overall last week, Brent oil increased by 0.11 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.18%.
Overall, world gasoline and oil prices in the past week still maintained at a low level.
According to analysts, OPEC+ (Ocean Exporters' Organization and partners, including OPEC and non-OPEC oil producers) are likely to continue to maintain the decision to temporarily suspend production growth in the first quarter of 2026. 2026 is considered a key period to test the effectiveness of OPEC+'s management decisions in efforts to balance oil supply and demand. In that context, China is forecast to continue to promote crude oil stockpiling in the first half of the year, thereby contributing to forming a "floating price" for the market.
