On January 3, 2026, answering a reporter's question asking to know Vietnam's reaction regarding the current situation in Venezuela, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated clearly:
Vietnam is deeply concerned about information related to the current situation in Venezuela. Vietnam calls on relevant parties to respect international law, the United Nations Charter, including the principle of respecting national sovereignty, not to use force and threaten to use force in international relations.
Vietnam calls on all parties to exercise restraint, dialogue, and resolve disputes and disagreements on the basis of international law, contributing to ensuring peace, security, stability, and cooperation in the region and around the world.
Faced with the complicated tense situation in Venezuela, which poses a risk of causing unsafety for citizens, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends:
1. Vietnamese citizens should carefully consider coming to Venezuela at the present time.
2. Vietnamese citizens currently in Venezuela need to leave dangerous areas; regularly monitor information, strictly comply with the regulations of the local authorities on travel and warnings of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ( Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela).
