On October 28, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee held a conference to summarize the implementation of the Project "Continuing to innovate and develop Cooperatives for the period 2021-2025" and the Trade Promotion Program associated with the Cooperative Economic Forum (Cooperative) for the period 2020-2025. The conference was attended and chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van De, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.
According to the report, after 5 years of implementing the project, the types of cooperatives have developed diversely in agriculture, services, tourism, handicrafts, and expanded in mountainous areas, contributing to economic development and social security. In the 2021-2025 period, the whole province will establish 200 new cooperatives, including 160 agricultural cooperatives, 35 commercial service cooperatives, 5 small-scale cooperatives, an average of 40 cooperatives per year, 100% of communes and wards have cooperatives.

Rural workers participating in the cooperative reached 268,700 people, with an average income of about 5.5 million VND per month for regular workers. The province supported the construction of 91 new-style cooperatives linked to value chains, 9 cooperatives opened clean agricultural product stores, and 5 cooperatives invested in infrastructure. The rate of cooperatives operating effectively reached 61.8%, with 278 cooperatives linking production and business according to the value chain.
In addition to the achieved results, the scale of many cooperatives is still small, the number of cooperatives actively applying science and technology, promoting trade, building brands and digital transformation is not much. Access to policies on land and credit capital is still difficult, and some problems have not been resolved in a timely manner.
Regarding the trade promotion program for the period 20202025, the Provincial Cooperative Union has coordinated with departments and localities to organize 43 activities, including 6 promotion conferences associated with the Economic Forum of the Cooperative Economic Zone, 4 Green Fairs, 5 rural markets in the province, participating in 28 fairs and promotion activities outside the province. Activities help cooperatives connect consumption, promote OCOP products and regional specialties, expand markets and export opportunities.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De acknowledged the implementation results, requesting local departments, branches, the Cooperative Union and cooperatives to continue to thoroughly implement Resolution No. 20 of the Central Committee, the Cooperative Law 2023, and the Collective Economic Development Strategy to 2030.
The province is oriented to develop diverse cooperative models, strengthen the quality of activities, encourage chain linkages, high technology application, digital transformation, green and circular production, associated with the program to build new rural areas to improve and sustainably reduce poverty. At the same time, strengthen training of cooperative management teams, innovate trade promotion, develop consumption channels on digital platforms, and bring cooperative products to e-commerce platforms and supermarket systems.
The Provincial People's Committee will review and complete the policy mechanism to support cooperatives in terms of capital, land, credit, science and technology, and trade promotion, creating conditions for the collective economic sector to develop sustainably and substantially.
On this occasion, Nghe An Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 10 collectives and 10 individuals with outstanding achievements in collective economic development.
