In some tomato-growing communes in Ninh Binh province, the harvest atmosphere is bustling right from the early days of the crop. According to people, tomato prices this year have increased much higher than last year, the output is stable, and traders have placed deposits to buy the whole garden since the fruit is still green, so people are very excited and assured to produce.
Tomato growers said that this year, although suffering damage due to the weather, in return, tomato prices increased much higher than last year.

Ms. Tran Thi Chau (Hau Dien village, Quy Nhat commune, Ninh Binh province) said that in the 2025 winter crop, her family planted 1.5 acres of tomatoes. This year, due to concerns about the impact of storms and floods, she planted later than every year, so the first fruit harvest started in January. With the current price, after deducting costs of seeds, fertilizer and care, each sao of tomatoes brings quite a profit. In particular, selling the whole garden helps people reduce the pressure of harvesting and transportation, not having to depend on market fluctuations every day.
Also ordered by traders right when they are still green, Mr. Pham Van Duong's tomato garden (in Quy Nhat commune) is cultivating 1.3 acres. Usually, each tomato plant yields about 6 harvests, but this year's tomato crop due to unfavorable weather dien bien, fruit ripening is not bustling, so the tomato harvest time of Mr. Duong's family is longer than every year.
Mr. Duong recounted: "At the beginning of the season, I wholesale tomatoes at the garden at a price of 30,000 VND/kg, last year the highest was only 20,000 VND/kg. Currently, the price has dropped to 17,000 VND/kg, but I still make a big profit, because tomatoes at 7,000 - 8,000 VND/kg are profitable.

It is known that in the 2025 Winter crop, the entire Quy Nhat commune has about 70ha of tomato growing area, including both growing in gardens and in fields. In recent years, people have paid more attention to the production process, complying with the crop schedule, and applying technical advances, so the yield and quality of agricultural products are increasingly improved. Along with that, product connection and consumption are concerned, contributing to creating sustainable output for farmers.
With positive signals from the beginning of the crop, many tomato growing households in Ninh Binh expect this to be a successful crop, bringing stable income, creating motivation for people to continue to stick with the fields.
