According to information from the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, on the afternoon of November 28, the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) held a ceremony to announce and hand over the decision to appoint Mr. Tran Hong Nam - General Director of the Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation (PVEP) - to hold the position of Member of the Board of Members (BOD) of the Group.
Strengthening leadership capacity
Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises (Committee) Nguyen Hoang Anh presented the appointment decision and congratulated Mr. Tran Hong Nam. According to Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh, the addition of personnel to the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam is necessary, contributing to strengthening the Group's management and operation capacity in the current challenging period.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Anh also emphasized the important role of Petrovietnam in implementing Conclusion No. 76-KL/TW dated April 24, 2024 of the Politburo, with the orientation of developing the Group into a multi-industry energy industry group, leading the trend of global energy transition.
Promote experience and responsibility
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Manh Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Petrovietnam - affirmed that Mr. Tran Hong Nam is a well-trained and experienced officer in the field of oil and gas exploration and exploitation. In his new position, Mr. Tran Hong Nam is committed to inheriting the experience of previous generations of leaders, upholding the spirit of responsibility and solidarity, and accompanying the Group to successfully carry out assigned tasks.
Key tasks
Chairman Nguyen Hoang Anh also requested Petrovietnam to focus on solving key projects, promoting oil and gas exploration and exploitation, and promoting renewable energy projects such as offshore wind power, LNG and CO2 collection and landfill, in line with sustainable development goals.
The ceremony took place on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Industry (November 27, 1961 - November 27, 2024), affirming Petrovietnam's pioneering role in the country's socio-economic development.
