At 11:40 p.m. on January 29 (the first day of Tet), Hong Bang District Police received a fire report from the 114 Command Center of the Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH) about a fire at Quang Minh restaurant, located at 26 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hoang Van Thu Ward, Hong Bang District.
Hong Bang District Police deployed 11 officers and soldiers along with 2 fire trucks to the scene. When the force arrived, the fire was engulfing the front of the 1st and 2nd floors of Quang Minh restaurant and spreading to the 1st and 2nd floors of Binh Coffee & Tea.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Team of Hong Bang District Police coordinated with Hoang Van Thu Ward Police and Ngo Quyen District Police to deploy fire fighting and reconnaissance teams to grasp the fire situation and quickly extinguish the fire.
According to initial assessment, the fire broke out in the area of the sidewalk tarpaulin of Quang Minh restaurant, then spread to the restaurant's advertising sign, spread inside the restaurant and spread to Binh Coffee & Tea. The fire did not cause any casualties, but damaged the Quang Minh restaurant's advertising sign (about 40 m2 in area), and burned the first and second floors of Binh Coffee & Tea. The fire also caused thermal damage to the 3-story house adjacent to the coffee shop.
Currently, the functional units of the City Police and Hong Bang District Police are continuing to investigate the cause and estimate the damage of the fire.
