USD price today decreased, Gold price today increased slightly
The US Dollar Index (DXY) measuring the fluctuations of the greenback against 6 major currencies (EUR, JPY, GBP, CAD, SEK, CHF) is currently at 94.172.
USD prices today cooled down after the previous strong increase. The focus is on the US Federal Reserve meeting this week.
Monetary policy in the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom is receiving special attention from investors. The Fed's announcement of a reduction in stimulus measures is a factor that has prompted the greenback to increase in price in recent weeks.
Boris Schlossberg, FX CEO at BK Asset Management, said: "USD prices have increased sharply in the past few days. Speaking about the USD's decline today, I think it is just a slight adjustment ahead of the FOMC meeting in case the Fed remains dovish."
Last Friday, the USD rebounded to its highest level since October 13. The reason for the USD's increase is due to strong inflation. US core personal consumption expenditure index data increased to 4.4%.
