Seized 93,500 Make Sense hairspray products without invoices or documents

Market Management Team No. 17 of Hanoi city seized 93,500 Make Sense brand hairspray products because they did not have invoices and documents proving their origin.

On September 4, Market Management Team No. 17, Hanoi City Market Management Sub-Department said that, implementing the direction of the City People's Committee, the Department of Industry and Trade and the Hanoi City Market Management Sub-Department, on August 20, Market Management Team No. 17 conducted an inspection of Mr. V.C's business establishment in Soc Son commune, Hanoi city.

At the time of inspection, Market Management Team No. 17 recorded that the establishment was trading goods including cosmetics and food but could not present invoices and documents; goods showed signs of counterfeiting trademarks being protected in Vietnam.

The goods include 117,484 cosmetic products: Make Sense hairspray, Beautnice essence mask set, Bird's Nest skin cream, Sadoer skin essence, Hydrating Facial Mask, Antisol herbal shampoo.

In which, the Market Management force seized 85,200 Make Sense hair styling spray products 100ml, 5,000 Make Sense hair styling glue products 50g and 3,300 Make Sense hair styling spray products 9ml. The number of products seized belonging to the Make Sense brand is up to 93,500 products.

According to Market Management Team No. 17, all of these goods are manufactured in China. At the time of inspection, Mr. V.C could not present invoices and related documents, and the products were not protected in the Vietnamese market. The value of goods at listed prices is more than 1.6 billion VND.

Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of Market Management Team No. 17 said that for Make Sense brand hairspray products without invoices and documents, these are goods that do not ensure safety for users, so according to the provisions of Decree 98/2020/ND-CP, they are subject to destruction.

According to a representative of Market Management Team No. 17, food and cosmetic products must be declared to be in accordance with current Vietnamese regulations before being put on the market for consumers to use.

For products without declaration dossiers, of unknown origin and source, manufactured and circulated on the market, especially products used directly on the body, consumers can hardly know the quality as well as possible side effects.

Such floating products may pose potential risks, directly affecting consumer health," said a representative of Market Management Team No. 17.

Market Management Team No. 17 also seized 13,650 supplementary food products labeled Vitamin B Complex, Konily, Neuokiz, Innerva. All goods are supplementary foods manufactured in China. At the time of inspection, Mr. V.C could not present invoices and related documents. The total value of goods is 779 million VND.

Functional forces also seized 12,720 products including decorative lights labeled 398 Mini Elbow Light, handheld electric fans labeled High-speed Fan GFS001, Real Standard phone charger cable, Mumibasisug brand sports shoes, BP102 computer keyboard. All goods are manufactured in China. At the time of inspection, Mr. V.C could not present invoices and related documents. The value of violating goods according to the listed price is more than 117 million VND.

Market Management Team No. 17 seized 785 products showing signs of counterfeiting Philips, Banobagi, Vichy brands being protected in Vietnam. The value of goods at listed prices is 68.8 million VND.

In the presence of Mr. V.C, the inspection team collected documents on the above-mentioned goods showing signs of counterfeiting Vichy, Banobagi, Philips brands (480 cosmetic products, 200 boxes of Banobagi brand skin masks, 105 Philips brand speakers) and sent them to representatives of brand owners in Vietnam as a basis for confirming genuine and fake brand goods.

After collecting documents, the inspection team unanimously reported and proposed that Team Leader of Market Management Team No. 17 issue a decision to temporarily seize and seal all of the above-mentioned goods for further verification and clarification according to regulations.
