Immediately after launching the program to join hands to support people affected by storms and floods, on September 12, Vietjet delegation went to the people of the communes of Ham Yen district (Tuyen Quang), coordinating with the Farmers' Association of Ham Yen district to visit and give gifts to many households.
Ham Yen is one of the districts that suffered heavy damage with hundreds of houses flooded, more than 1,500 houses isolated, nearly 1,000 hectares of crops flooded and swept away. The estimated damage to the entire district is up to 36 billion VND.
After many days of isolation and being submerged in water, the people of Ham Yen have begun to clean up their houses, overcome the damage and return to normal life. The district has also mobilized cadres and soldiers and established volunteer teams to support each household in repairing their houses. Relief goods were received at reception points and distributed to households by the district.
Expressing his emotions and gratitude to the Vietjet team, a local resident said that the timely help from Vietjet and many organizations and groups across the country has contributed to helping people quickly stabilize their lives.
Ms. Le Phan Thanh Ha, a Vietjet employee, shared: “Witnessing the losses that people have suffered with my own eyes, I am deeply saddened. Many families had all their belongings swept away by the flood, many people lost their loved ones. They are worried and wondering how to overcome the losses. With the spirit of mutual love, sharing food and clothes, I hope that Vietjet's support will help them in some way to rebuild their lives.”
Along with the working delegations visiting and giving gifts to people, Vietjet also quickly transported tons of relief goods from people across the country to the damaged areas.
Within just 2 days of announcing the free receipt and transportation of relief goods for flood victims, Vietjet has transported more than 35 tons of goods from many localities to the North. Tons of other goods will also be transported in the near future.
Mr. Tran Quang Hoa, Deputy General Director of Vietjet Cargo, said that Vietjet's relief hotline is ringing continuously with many orders for transporting goods, mainly essential goods such as food, medicine, etc.
“Understanding the hearts of the people nationwide towards the flood victims, Vietjet prioritized the delivery of goods on the earliest flights of the day. Thanks to that, in just 2 days, Vietjet was able to bring more than 35 tons of goods to the North so that charity organizations could continue to receive and deliver them to the provinces,” said Mr. Hoa.
On social media, many accounts have posted images of aid shipments transported free of charge by Vietjet. Duong Nguyen, an account of the charity group “Warmth”, said that thanks to the support of many people, the group was able to buy 3,000 bags of fresh porridge and thanks to Vietjet’s free and quick delivery, the porridge reached the children in the northern highlands.
Anna shared: “500 essential food packages: bread, condensed milk, sausages, panadol were carefully vacuum-packed to reach the flooded areas. Thank you so much Vietjet for helping me quickly and for free.”
Mr. Vu Quang Xuyen, captain of Vietjet cargo team at Tan Son Nhat airport, said that every time he receives relief goods, he feels honored to contribute a small part of his strength to support people, and is also proud that Vietjet transports relief goods for free during this period.
