Cao Bang Provincial Police have just announced the results of detecting traffic violations through the Traffic Surveillance Camera System from January 13, 2025 to January 22, 2025.
Through the traffic surveillance camera system, Cao Bang Provincial Police discovered 7 cases of cars driving over the speed limit, 2 cases of motorbikes driving over the speed limit; 1 case of motorbike running a red light. Of which, 2 motorbikes violating the speed limit had license plates identified in Cao Bang, the motorbike violating the red light had a license plate identified in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the list from Bac Ninh Provincial Police, from December 30, 2024 to January 5, 2025, the Provincial Police discovered 532 cases of traffic violations. Among the violating vehicles, there were many motorbikes.

The police note that from January 1, 2025, the Law on Road Traffic Safety and Order, Decree 168/2024/ND-CP regulating administrative sanctions for violations of road traffic safety and order; deduction of points, and restoration of driving license points will come into effect.
Accordingly, some violations of road traffic safety have had fines increased sharply compared to before, such as car drivers running red lights will be fined 18-20 million VND (old fine was 4-6 million VND), and motorbike drivers running red lights will be fined 4-6 million VND (old fine was 800,000 VND to 1 million VND).
In order to effectively implement the newly issued law, local traffic police forces are actively implementing many synchronous measures, with the motto of both focusing on propaganda and strict handling.
The main goal of increasing fines according to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP is to raise awareness of compliance with traffic laws, thereby contributing to reducing accidents, traffic jams, etc.
The police require violators to go to the police headquarters where the fine was discovered or to the district police where they reside to resolve the violation according to regulations.
After 20 days from the date of sending the notice of violation, if the violator does not come to the Police to resolve the violation or the Police have not received the notice of the resolution and handling results from the District Police where the violator resides, the Police will update information on the violating vehicle on the Electronic Information page of the Traffic Police Department and send a warning notice to the vehicle inspection agency (for vehicles required to be inspected).
The police recommend that people continue to raise their awareness of voluntarily complying with traffic laws, for their own safety and that of others.
