A series of reasons why cars are repaired a lot but errors do not disappear

Many car owners have fallen into the situation of putting cars in garages for repair many times, replacing many spare parts, but errors still recur.

According to a technician at the Ninety Eight Auto Repair, Maintenance and Care Center (Cat Lai ward, Ho Chi Minh City), the determination of car damage is usually based on three factors including customer description, the actual feeling of the mechanic during the inspection, and the results obtained from the diagnostic device.

If you only rely on the car owner's description or emotional experience without the necessary inspection steps, the technician may misidentify the faulty part. This leads to improper replacement of components, causing the car to still have errors after repair.

Currently, most garages are equipped with diagnostic machines to support checking electrical and electronic systems on cars. However, this device only plays a supporting role and cannot completely replace the knowledge and experience of repairers.

An error code displayed on the machine does not mean that the part itself is broken. In many cases, the problem arises from another detail but affects the related system and creates the corresponding error code. If only relying on the error code to replace spare parts, the repair process may not solve the root cause.

Therefore, after reading the error code, technicians need to combine manufacturer's technical documents, standard inspection procedures and practical experience to accurately determine the cause of damage before deciding to repair or replace components.

Along with the development of automobile technology, electronic systems, sensors and control software are becoming increasingly complex. This requires workers to regularly update professional knowledge, while effectively using diagnostic devices to improve accuracy in the inspection and repair process.

In addition to correct diagnosis, the quality of replacement parts also directly affects repair efficiency. Components that do not meet technical specifications or are of poor quality can quickly degrade, causing incidents to recur after a short period of use.

In addition, the assembly and adjustment process after repair cannot be ignored. After replacing parts belonging to the steering system, suspension system or wheels, if the dynamic balance is not maintained, the wheel placement angle is not adjusted, or the bolts are not tightened properly according to the manufacturer's recommendations, the car may still experience vibration, steering deviation, or uneven tire wear.

Car use habits are also a factor that reduces repair efficiency. Frequent overloading, sidewalk climbing, going through potholes at high speed or not periodic maintenance will increase pressure on many details, shorten the lifespan of newly replaced parts and make errors easily recurring.

Ninety Eight Auto recommends that car owners should choose repair facilities with full diagnostic equipment, methodical inspection procedures and a team of technical staff who are regularly trained. The combination of modern technology and the professional skills of the mechanic will help correctly identify the cause of damage, limiting the situation of repairing many times but still not completely fixing the problem.
