Why do glasses leave marks on the bridge of your nose?
Some common causes of nose bridge marks when wearing glasses are:
- The nose pads are placed too low on the face and make the glasses feel tight.
- The size of the glasses is too small compared to the shape, causing the 2 nose pads to press tightly against the bridge of the nose, causing the glasses to leave marks on the nose.
- The weight of the glasses is too heavy so it presses on the two sides of the nose.
- The bridge of the glasses (the distance between the two lenses) is too narrow compared to the bridge of the nose.
Additionally, if your skin is dry or already dry or chapped, the friction of the nose pads can make the nose crease worse. Not to mention, you may be irritated by the material of the glasses, causing your skin to become red and sore.
How to wear glasses without leaving marks on the bridge of your nose
Choosing glasses that fit and are comfortable is extremely important, especially for those who wear glasses regularly. Some of the factors that greatly affect the comfort of wearing glasses are the frame material, the size of the frame in relation to the face and the shape of the frame. Lightweight frames will reduce the pressure on the nose, making you more comfortable throughout the day.
How to remove nose lines caused by glasses
You can easily fix the marks left by glasses in some simple ways at home as follows:
- Use cucumber to rub on dark spots about 1-2 times/day.
- Apply fresh aloe vera gel to the affected area, leave overnight and wash off the next morning.
- Massage your nose with almonds for a few minutes every night before going to bed.
- Supplement vitamin E and omega 3 daily to increase elasticity and prevent aging.
- Use fresh tomatoes to rub both sides of the nose for about 1 minute, leave for 15 minutes then rinse thoroughly.
- If the mark is too painful or red, see your doctor for advice and appropriate medication.
