* Those are the words of President Ho Chi Minh exactly 65 years ago when he attended the 2nd Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on April 25, 1961.
National unity is a truth, a core value of the Front's work throughout history.
Solidarity is not a slogan but starts from very specific actions. The story published by Lao Dong Newspaper about community security models such as "1 with 1" or "Community Kitchen" in Ho Chi Minh City in recent times is proof of the warm flames of human kindness, and at the same time affirms: The strength of the Front is the strength of the people's hearts. The Front, with its role as a bridge between the government and the people, has been and is creating models to connect the community, support people to overcome difficulties, and at the same time promote the spirit of solidarity and unity to rise up.
From mid-2025, the "1 with 1" model of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tan Binh ward (HCMC) was implemented to connect businesses and organizations with difficult families, policy households and vulnerable people in the community. With support levels from 500,000 VND to 1,000,000 VND per month, the model immediately attracted the participation of 23/39 neighborhoods, helping 37 cases, bringing hope and joy to those in need of help.
One of the beneficiaries of this model is Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai Thuong, a single teacher raising 3 young children. Her husband died early, 2 daughters have relapsed asthma, while her son has kidney failure syndrome. With the support money from the model, Ms. Thuong has more faith in the future. "Thanks to the support from the Front, I feel happier and more secure when raising my children," Ms. Thuong shared with a bright smile.
In addition, the model also brings joy to policy families like Mr. Bui Ngoc Trac (86 years old). He said he always feels the care and attention from the government and the community. This is not only material support but also spiritual sharing, a clear proof of solidarity between the Front and the people.
Or in Tan Son Nhat ward, the "Community Rice Kitchen" model has been implemented since September 2025. Every day, the rice kitchen serves 100 - 150 free meals for workers in difficult circumstances, students far from home and especially patients' families at nearby hospitals. Each meal, although simple, is a great spiritual gift for the poor.
Ms. Tran Thi Men, an elderly woman from the North who came to Ho Chi Minh City to rent a room and make a living as a scrap collector, could not hide her emotion when receiving a free meal from the community kitchen. "At this age, I should be able to rest, but I have to earn a living every penny. Thank you very much to the kitchen for giving me a full meal, and also being welcomed very thoughtfully," Ms. Men shared.
The kitchen is not only a place to provide free meals but also a point of connection of love, creating bonds between people. Representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Tan Son Nhat ward shared: "This kitchen not only serves the poor, but is also a place to express the spirit of great solidarity of the community. We want to spread sharing, creating a space full of humanity.
The two examples above are very typical of the good, unique and very effective models of the Fatherland Front at the grassroots level. The strength of people's hearts is also reflected in the joint efforts of the whole society to help and support families facing difficulties. One of the outstanding movements is the movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide" launched by the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Commendation Council in coordination with the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
The efforts of the Vietnam Fatherland Front system have contributed to the Government, levels, and sectors to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide 4 months ahead of schedule compared to the target when launched; eliminated 334,234 temporary and dilapidated houses; mobilized over 24,700 billion VND and more than 2.7 million working days of support.
Faced with the damage caused by natural disasters and storms, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front organized a launching ceremony and called for the joint support of compatriots nationwide, overseas Vietnamese and the international community to support overcoming damage caused by storm No. 3 in 2024 (international name Yagi) over 5,300 billion VND; supporting people affected by storm No. 10 in 2025 (international name Bualoi) and supporting people affected by floods in the Central region with an amount of over 4,200 billion VND, and has allocated support to localities and people affected.
These are very impressive figures affirming the strength of solidarity, the strength of the Front.

Looking back at the long journey of the Vietnamese Revolutionary history, it is impossible not to mention the great successes that the strength of national unity brings.
At the National Conference to study, study, thoroughly grasp and implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress on February 7, Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front, Central mass organizations, Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front - reported on the topic "Promoting the strength of great national unity in the cause of building, developing the country and protecting the Fatherland in the new era". In which, she emphasized that great national unity is a precious tradition of our nation, a strategic line, a "red thread" throughout the revolutionary leadership process of our Party; a decisive factor in all victories of the cause of building, protecting and developing the Fatherland.
In the article "The Strength of Unity" published in June 2025, General Secretary To Lam (now General Secretary, President) affirmed: "Solidarity has been, is and will always be the invincible strength of the Vietnamese Revolution. In the current period of transformation and reorganization of the challenging apparatus, that spirit must be deeply grasped and highly promoted. History has assigned us a very important task of creating a streamlined, effective, and efficient apparatus, meeting the requirements of rapid and sustainable development of the country in the new era. To complete that task, there is no "weapon" more powerful and effective than the consensus of the entire political system and the support of the entire people. As President Ho Chi Minh concluded: "Solidarity, unity, great unity - Success, success, great success!".
The spirit of "national great unity" continued to be emphasized by General Secretary To Lam in his directing speech at the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front and Central Agencies, term 2025 - 2030, which took place in September 2025 in Hanoi. The General Secretary requested: "Party committees at all levels lead and create conditions for the Front and mass organizations to properly promote their functions, not to administrativize; set clear tasks, allocate transparent resources, remove barriers for grassroots levels; periodically dialogue with the People. Party members working in the Front and mass organizations system must be the core nucleus, maintain "3 closeness": Close to the people - close to grassroots level - close to digital space; "5 must": Must listen - must dialogue - must be a role model - must be responsible - must report results; "4 no": No formality - no avoidance - no shirking - no misuse of functions".
The 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026 - 2031, scheduled to take place in Hanoi from May 11 to May 13, is expected to continue to promote tradition and open up the spirit of national unity. In the era of integration, when knowledge, technology and innovation are driving forces for development, people's hearts, beliefs and consensus are still the root of all successes.
The strength of the Fatherland Front is the strength of the people's hearts.
