In the first 6 months of the year, trade unions of Bac Lieu province have performed well their local tasks, especially taking care of the material and spiritual life of workers .
The program "Tet reunion - Spring sharing" organized visits, encouragement and gave gifts to 3,630 union members , workers, officials, and laborers (employees) in difficult circumstances, suffering from labor accidents, serious illness, with a total amount of more than 2 billion VND and 150 million VND in gifts.
The Standing Committee of the Provincial Confederation of Labor has disbursed 46 projects from the "Capital Support for Poor Workers " Fund for 1,287 employees to borrow capital for family economic development with a total amount of nearly 12 billion VND; Supporting the construction of 22 new houses and repairing 3 "Trade Union Warm" houses for union members with difficult housing circumstances with a total amount of more than 1.1 billion VND; supporting 17 union members with serious illnesses, with an amount of 68 million VND.
However, the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions in the first months of the year still started slowly. From the beginning of the year until now, the whole province has only developed 674 new union members, reaching over 29% of the assigned target, establishing 4 new Communist Unions...
In addition to the achieved results, the Provincial Labor Confederation's Board of Directors also evaluated and discussed the advantages and difficulties in the first 6 months of the year to overcome and implement key tasks in the last 6 months of 2024.
Previously, on the afternoon of July 17, the City Labor Federation. Bac Lieu coordinated with the Management Board, Legal Policy and Labor Relations Board (Provincial Labor Union) to organize the handover of 2 Trade Union Shelters to 2 difficult union members including: Ms. Le Kim Thuy - member of the Communist Party of Ward 2 and Mr. Thach Phuoc Tho - member of the Communist Party of Le Thi Rieng Primary School. Each shelter is supported by the Provincial Labor Federation with 50 million VND. This is an activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024).
