On the morning of April 4, at 29/4 Square (Tan Uyen ward), the street parade - culture and sports program with the theme "Initiating breakthroughs - Aspiration to reach higher" associated with the Olympic Run Day "For the health of the whole people - For national security" took place sôi nổi, attracting more than 1,200 officials, athletes, youth union members and people to participate.
This is one of the typical activities in the series of events to celebrate the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Sports Festival in 2026, and also towards the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam's sports industry and the 50th anniversary of the construction and development of Ho Chi Minh City's sports industry.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Mr. Le Duy Hau - Vice Chairman of Tan Uyen Ward People's Committee emphasized: "Today's event is not only a movement activity but also a commitment of each citizen in physical training, improving health to study, work and protect the Fatherland". At the same time, he called on people to maintain the habit of regularly exercising, contributing to building a healthy and civilized community.
The highlight of the program is the motorbike and bicycle parade with a route of about 18km through many main roads in Tan Uyen, Tan Hiep and Binh Duong wards, along with a 1km long companion run by leaders of departments, branches and a large number of people. The activities create a vibrant sports atmosphere, spread solidarity and raise awareness of health training in the community.
In addition, many sports performances such as yoga, dưỡng sinh, traditional martial arts, Vovinam, Karate, Wushu are elaborately organized, contributing to creating a unique cultural and sports highlight at the program. The Organizing Committee also announced the identity set and official songs of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Sports Festival in 2026.
According to Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Sports Festival 2026 is expected to open at 7 pm on April 19 at Saigon Riverside Park, with 44 sports, 832 events and 136 registered units.

On the same day, a response parade program was also organized in Vung Tau ward with more than 1,000 participants, showing the synchronous spread of the sports movement in the area. Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports organized the dưỡng sinh and yoga festival with nearly 1,000 athletes participating; in the coming time, it will continue to implement many tournaments such as pickleball, swimming, Vovinam to create a vibrant emulation atmosphere towards the city's sports festival.
The series of activities is organized methodically, contributing to creating a premise for organizational and professional work, towards the X National Sports Festival hosted by Ho Chi Minh City at the end of 2026.
