Vietnam Highlands Trail by UTMB 2027 is officially announced, marking the first time Vietnam has an off-road race belonging to the UTMB World Series system.

Vietnam Highlands Trail by UTMB 2027 will take place from January 8 to 10, 2027 in Lam Dong province. The event is organized by the Vietnam People's Police Sports Association and the People's Committee of Lam Dong province, in coordination with Nexus Sport Events.

Joining the UTMB World Series is considered an important milestone for the domestic off-road running movement, making Vietnam one of the official destinations of the prestigious global trail system. Through the tournament, athletes have the opportunity to accumulate Running Stones to aim for the UTMB World Series Finals finals.

The organizers said that the competition routes are built on the foundation of the typical natural landscape of Lam Dong, taking participants through many diverse terrains such as pine forests, lakes, primeval forests and symbolic highlands. The competition journey is associated with famous landmarks including LangBiang, Nui Voi, Pinhatt and Bidoup - Nui Ba National Park.

Vietnam Highlands Trail by UTMB 2027 includes 5 distances from 5km to 100km. Among them, the 5km and 10km distances are suitable for newcomers to off-road running, while the 20km, 50km and 100km events bring higher professional challenges. In particular, the 100km distance will take athletes through deep primeval forest roads and conquer LangBiang peak.

Besides the competitive factor, the tournament also aims to promote the natural beauty, indigenous culture and tourism potential of Lam Dong to the international running community. With the official joining of the UTMB World Series, Vietnam Highlands Trail by UTMB is expected to contribute to raising the status of Vietnamese off-road running, while bringing the image of the country and people of Vietnam closer to the runner community around the world.
