On May 3, information from Nghe An Provincial Youth Union said that 300 union members and youth participated in supporting the "Journey following Uncle Ho's footsteps - For national security" race in 2026, co-organized by the Vietnam People's Police Sports Association and Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, taking place on May 1 and 2. This is an activity to celebrate the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19).
The race gathers more than 3,000 domestic and international athletes, including nearly 700 officers and soldiers from 30 police units. The Organizing Committee established 5 distances: 1km, 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km. The running route starts from Ho Chi Minh Square, through Truong Thi, Le Nin streets and stretches along Vinh - Cua Lo Avenue.
In addition to the police force ensuring security and order, traffic diversion, 300 union members and youth volunteers were arranged at the stages, performing water replenishment, running route guidance, athlete support and coordination with functional forces.
The enthusiasm and responsibility of young people have made an important contribution to the success of the tournament, spreading the beautiful image of Nghe An youth in sports and community cultural activities.
