On May 9th, information from the People's Committee of Cua Lo ward said that the locality is urgently completing preparations for the "9th Northern Great Hands Sports Cycling Festival" and the "Cua Lo - Calling the Sea" Cycling Race for the Golden Star Beer Cup in 2026.
Previously, on the afternoon of May 8, the event organizing committee held a meeting to review the tasks and preparations for the festival and race.
At the meeting, departments, boards, and related units reported on the progress of implementing the organization plan and plans to ensure security and safety for the event.
According to the plan, to serve the parade activities of more than 500 athletes on the afternoon of May 9, the locality will ban traffic on both lanes of Binh Minh street from 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM, the section from Sao Nam street to Pham Nguyen Du street. At the same time, 33 traffic checkpoints will be arranged to regulate vehicles.
On the morning of May 10, Binh Minh street continued to be closed from 5 am to 11 am, the section from Nguyen Sinh Cung street to Pham Nguyen Du street to serve the "Cua Lo - Calling Sea" cycling race. The Organizing Committee will establish 35 checkpoints to ensure traffic safety during the race.
Functional forces were mobilized to coordinate and synchronously deploy many tasks such as ensuring security and order, traffic safety, food safety; and at the same time preparing sufficient facilities and logistics to serve athletes and delegates attending.
In addition, the opening, closing, awarding ceremonies and health care medical plans throughout the event period were also carefully prepared.
According to the People's Committee of Cua Lo ward, up to now, basically the tasks have been deployed according to plan, ready for the Sports Cycling Festival and the 2026 Cycling Race.
Through the event, the locality expects to continue to promote the image of dynamic and friendly Cua Lo beach tourism to tourists inside and outside the province.
