This is an activity within a series of events towards the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Sports Festival in 2026; and also celebrates the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam's Sports industry and the 50th anniversary of the construction and development of Ho Chi Minh City's sports industry.
Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, and branches. On the side of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports and the Organizing Committee of the tournament were Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament; along with leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Tennis - Pickleball Federation, specialized units, coaches and a large number of athletes.

Pickleball is a sport combining tennis, badminton and table tennis, which is developing rapidly in Ho Chi Minh City. This tournament attracts many athletes of many ages to participate, creating a lively exchange atmosphere, contributing to promoting the movement of physical training and sports in the community.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes entered the competition in official events with a serious, united and effortful spirit. The matches took place excitingly, receiving enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
Notably, at the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Sports Festival in 2026, pickleball was first included in the official competition program, marking a new step in the development of this sport in the locality.

According to the plan, the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Sports Festival in 2026 will open on the evening of April 19th at Saigon Riverside Park. Prior to that, many response activities such as the dưỡng sinh and yoga physical exercise festival, street parade program and Olympic Run for National Health Day were organized, contributing to spreading the movement of sports training among the people.
