In order to develop a professional boxing competition model and widely promote the sport in Vietnam, the Ho Chi Minh City Boxing Federation in coordination with the Trigger Boxing club organized the Trigger Promotion 5 Tournament with 16 dramatic matches.
The tournament was approved by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City. According to the document signed by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, Trigger Promotion 5 is a professional boxing tournament in the city's sports event system. The tournament is also identified as a professional playground, expanding opportunities for fighting, developing careers and creating stable income for Vietnamese fighters.
With the theme " British power tricker - Trigger Promotion 5", this year's tournament brings together many top fighters nationwide. In particular, the highlight match is the competition between Nguyen Van Hai - the symbol of Vietnam's boxing industry - and Cao Quoc Viet, a young boxer expected to weigh 63.5 kg.

Nguyen Van Hai (born in 1988) is considered one of the three most typical faces of Vietnamese boxing alongside Tran Van Thao and Truong Dinh Hoang. In his professional career, he has played 8 matches with 6 wins, notably a 12-second knockout against Abdul Motalib at WBO Global Prelude 2023.
Not disappointing the fans' expectations, the two fighters together gave an exciting, eye-catching match. The remaining matches also took place dramatically and balanced, receiving welcome and support from the audience.
Sharing about the development orientation, Mr. Trinh Van Tri, founder of the Trigger Boxing club, said: "A year we plan to organize 4 to 5 similar tournaments so that martial artists have more opportunities to compete, improve their expertise and create a stable source of income. Only when they have the economy, are they qualified to pursue their long-term passion".
The Trigger Promotion 5 tournament is not only a sporting event, but also a testament to the efforts to professionalize Vietnamese boxing - where domestic boxers are truly on the stage, cheered by the audience and can live fully with their passion for English boxing.
