The peak is known as the “Matterhorn of the Himalayas” due to its rugged terrain and sheer rock slopes. With this achievement, Nguyen Thanh Binh became the first Vietnamese woman to climb the peak, considered one of the most technically challenging in the region.

Nguyen Thanh Binh has many years of experience in mountain climbing, marathons and ultra marathons. Experience from other peaks such as Kosciuszko (2,228m), Kilimanjaro (5,895m), Nagarjuna (5,050m) and Kala Patthar (5,550m) has helped her accumulate the necessary physical and technical foundation.
The journey to conquer Ama Dablam required careful preparation in terms of physical strength and climbing techniques. Before the trip, Nguyen Thanh Binh spent 6 months researching the terrain and characteristics of the mountain range, while also intensively training in endurance and rock climbing. Overcoming dangerous rocky slopes, using ropes and special climbing techniques showed her thorough preparation.

The climb lasted 5 days, with the support of local guides and companions. According to Nguyen Thanh Binh, to be successful, it requires not only physical strength or technique, but also a strong spirit. The success of conquering Ama Dablam not only reflects physical maturity, but is also the result of serious preparation and determination to overcome difficult challenges.
Ama Dablam is one of the peaks with an altitude of nearly 6,000m and requires high technical skills in climbing, especially on steep rock and snow sections. This achievement of Nguyen Thanh Binh can be considered a testament to the development of female athletes in mountain climbing, which is often considered a challenge for men.
