On January 31, in Rach Gia ward, An Giang province, Coast Guard Region 4 Command in coordination with the Provincial Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Department of Education and Training of An Giang province organized the provincial-level round of the "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" contest for the 2025-2026 school year for secondary school students in coastal communes and wards in the area.
Attending and directing the contest were Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 4 Command - Head of the Organizing Committee of the Contest; representatives of leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, Departments, Boards, branches of An Giang province, Boards of Directors of schools, teachers and 100 excellent students representing more than 30,000 secondary school students from coastal communes and wards of the province.

Speaking at the opening of the contest, Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong - Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 4 Command, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest - emphasized: The contest is a key activity to concretize Project 3934 of the Ministry of National Defense on propaganda about the sea and islands for secondary school students in the period 2024 - 2030. Especially, in the context of the country entering a new era - the era of national rise after the 14th Party Congress, fostering knowledge and love for the homeland for the young generation is a strategic task, contributing to building will and determination to firmly protect the sacred sea and island sovereignty of the Fatherland.
The provincial-level round took place in an atmosphere of excitement and high determination, 100 contestants took turns taking knowledge quizzes. The students' deep understanding of sea and island sovereignty as well as international and Vietnamese legal regulations caused a great surprise to the Judges and participating delegates.
After tense competition hours, the Organizing Committee found the most outstanding faces to award prizes. Overall results: the first prize belonged to Pham Khanh Duy, a student of class 9/5, Vo Nguyen Giap Secondary School; in addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded 2 second prizes; 3 third prizes and 4 consolation prizes.

The success of the contest has contributed to further tightening the military-civilian solidarity relationship, and at the same time left a deep impression in the hearts of students and local people. Through this, each student will become a "young ambassador" for propaganda, dissemination of laws, mobilizing relatives to well implement the Party's guidelines and the State's laws on the sea and islands, contributing to the Vietnam Coast Guard force in maintaining peace in the Southwest sea area of the Fatherland.
