On the morning of June 12, more than one million candidates nationwide completed the final exam, closing the 2026 High School Graduation Exam.
After a long period of studying and reviewing, many students enter the waiting stage for results with different emotions, from relief to anxiety and nervousness.
For many families, this is the time for parents to change their way of accompanying their children so that they have time to recover their spirits after a stressful journey.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong (resident in Gia Phu commune, Lao Cai province) shared that after her child completed the exam, the family proactively did not ask too many questions about the answers or scores, but let their child rest.
My daughter studies quite diligently but often sets high goals for herself. After the exam, she still thinks a lot about the questions she is not sure about. The family encourages her to temporarily put aside exams, get enough sleep, meet friends or do things she likes to be more comfortable," Ms. Huong said.
According to Ms. Huong, at this time, parents need to limit questions that make their children more stressed, such as predicting scores, comparing with friends, or mentioning too much about passing or failing.
What my child needs most at this time is the feeling of being recognized for their efforts by their parents. Exam results are important but not the only thing that determines her child's future," Ms. Huong shared.

Also having a child who just finished the high school graduation exam, Mr. Tran Van Minh (residing in Lao Cai ward) chose to spend time taking his child to participate in family activities.
Throughout the exam preparation time, my child almost only focused on studying. After the exam, I took him out to play, visit relatives to change the atmosphere. The family also talked to make my child understand that no matter what the result, parents will always be with him," Mr. Minh said.

According to parents, simple actions such as having a meal with their children, talking about upcoming plans, encouraging exercise or participating in favorite activities can help students relieve stress after the exam.
After leaving the exam room, what many students need is not only a good result but also trust and encouragement from their families.
How parents behave during this period will help their children be more confident when entering important choices ahead.
