Kien Giang University has just celebrated its 11th anniversary and announced the decision to recognize the University Council and the school's leadership for the 2024 - 2029 term.
The ceremony announced the decision of the Minister of Education and Training (Education and Training) on the recognition of the School Council, Chairman of the School Council and Principal of Kien Giang University for the term 2024 - 2029. Accordingly, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho held the position of Chairman of the School Council; PhD. Nguyen Van Thanh holds the position of school principal.
At the same time, Kien Giang University presented the Resolution to appoint Vice Chairman of the University Council to Dr. Ngo Van Thien.
At the ceremony, Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the School Council - sent a deep gratitude to the Ministry of Education and Training, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Committee of Kien Giang Province and the companion units that have always paid attention and supported the school's development during the past time.
Dr. Nguyen Huu Tho emphasized that with the new responsibility, the University Council and the Board of Directors will continue to promote the achieved results, solidarity, innovation and determination to successfully implement strategic goals.
The school will focus on improving the quality of its team, promoting scientific research, technology transfer, developing spearhead training majors, enhancing international cooperation, comprehensive digital transformation and building a happy and friendly learning and working environment, contributing to making Kien Giang University a prestigious training and research center of the region and the whole country.
Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Principal of Kien Giang University - expressed his pride and gratitude for the guidance of leaders at all levels, the companionship of the enterprise and all staff and students throughout the 11-year journey.
We are committed to continuing to build a happy, humane, modern and integrated learning environment, making Kien Giang University a prestigious training and research center in the region. The goal by 2030 is to meet the international quality accreditation standard (AUN-QA), 30% of training programs meet quality accreditation according to international standards, increase the rate of lecturers with a doctorate degree to 40%, expand the training scale to 11,000 students, develop postgraduate training programs and promote scientific research to serve the community, said Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh.

On this occasion, the School was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister for its outstanding achievements in training high-quality human resources, applying scientific and technical advances and serving the community, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
The school was also awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Minister of Education and Training for its outstanding achievements in the emulation movement "Innovation, creativity in management, teaching and learning" in 2024. In particular, 2 collectives of the school were honored to receive the Emulation Flag of the Ministry of Education and Training.
