On April 21, the Dak Lak Provincial Center for Disease Control (CDC) in coordination with Phan Boi Chau Secondary School (Buon Ma Thuot ward), Hoang Hoa Tham Elementary School (Thanh Nhat ward) and Nguyen Thi Dinh Elementary School (Ea Kao ward) organized live communication sessions on drowning prevention and rabies prevention.
The activity has propagated and disseminated knowledge to more than 2,500 officials, teachers and students.
At communication sessions, speakers shared information about the situation of rabies and drowning accidents nationwide as well as in localities; the risks and consequences of rabies; how to handle being bitten by dogs and cats...
At the same time, students are guided on safety skills in preventing and combating drowning such as not arbitrarily swimming in ponds, lakes, rivers, streams, and seas when no adults are accompanying; recognizing dangerous areas; rescue skills, supporting victims and how to handle situations when drowning occurs.
Reporters also answer students' questions and guide them on how to handle real-life situations that may arise.
Mr. Hoang Hai Phuc, Director of Dak Lak Provincial CDC, said: "This is an activity to contribute to raising awareness of rabies prevention, preventing drowning accidents, especially during the summer - a time of many potential risks for children.
