On the morning of May 24, in Can Tho city, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command in coordination with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the Department of Education and Training of Can Tho city, and An Giang and Ca Mau provinces organized the Regional Final Round of the "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" contest for the 2025-2026 school year for secondary school students in coastal communes and wards of Can Tho city, and An Giang and Ca Mau provinces.
Participating in the regional Final Round are 3 teams from Can Tho city and An Giang and Ca Mau provinces. Each team consists of 5 students, including 3 official students and 2 reserve students. These are all students who achieved excellent results in the provincial-level round.
Speaking at the Opening of the Contest, Major General Nguyen Van Dung - Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 4 Command emphasized that the "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" contest is not only an intellectual playground for students but also an educational activity with profound political and social significance, contributing to fostering love for the homeland and country, fostering national pride and the sense of responsibility of the young generation towards the cause of protecting the sacred sea and island sovereignty of the Fatherland.
Through the competitions, students are equipped with more knowledge about Vietnam's sea and islands; the tradition of building and defending the country of the nation; the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army and the Vietnam Coast Guard force; and at the same time improve legal understanding, skills of behavior, and awareness of law compliance in schools and social life. Thereby, contributing to forming for the young generation courage, civic responsibility, patriotism and aspiration to contribute, joining hands to maintain a peaceful and stable environment, firmly protecting the sovereignty, security, and safety of the sea and islands of the Fatherland in the new situation.

After exciting and attractive competitions, the "Mat Bien" team of Ca Mau province excellently won the First Prize, the "San Ho" team of An Giang province won the Second Prize and the "Rong Bien" team of Can Tho city won the Third Prize.
The contest is a practical activity to promote propaganda and education for the young generation about the tradition of building and defending the nation; the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army, the Vietnam Coast Guard force and localities in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland. At the same time, it contributes to disseminating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on sea and islands; international legal knowledge related to sea and islands; drug prevention and control, school violence prevention and control, and skills in handling situations in the school environment.

Through the contest, the Organizing Committee aims to raise awareness, nurture love for the homeland, country, love for the sea and islands; build students' awareness and responsibility for the task of protecting territorial sovereignty, maintaining security, order, and safety in the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland.
On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command awarded 60 scholarships to students in difficult circumstances who strive to study well, thereby encouraging and motivating them to continue to strive in their studies and life.
