On September 27, Vietnam-Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU), Danang University organized a series of events "Developing Fintech in the digital age" to inaugurate the Center for training, research and innovation.
The Center for Training, Research and Innovation (VKU Fintech Hub) is sponsored by Hanwha Life Group of Korea and Chilfund Korea, a large project associated with the Innovation Center under the ODA Project of the Korean Government with a scale of 1,500m2 being implemented at VKU.
VKU Fintech Hub is invested with modern equipment, specialized software systems for financial data analysis SAS, simulation software (e-commerce trading platform; business strategy Business stimulation game; electronic payment; Digital marketing), along with a system of textbooks, reference materials, monographs with the aim of opening a training program in Financial Technology (Fintech).
VKU plans to enroll students in Fintech from 2025 with 60 targets and training orientation to increase 100% English teaching, combine internships and practice at enterprises to meet the human resource needs of Da Nang City and major partners of Hanwha Life Group Korea and the global market.
According to Mr. Ho Ky Minh - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee, with the strong development of the 4.0 Technology Revolution, the Fintech sector is becoming an important pillar of the digital economy. It is forecasted that the Fintech sector will be short of high-quality human resources in the context of rapid growth of Fintech companies in Vietnam.
In Da Nang alone, the project "Building Da Nang City into a regional financial center" identifies Fintech as an important component to form and develop a financial center in Da Nang City in the spirit of Conclusion No. 79-KL/TW and Resolution No. 43-NQ/TW of the Politburo on building and developing Da Nang City to 2030, with a vision to 2045.
“VKU Fintech Hub will become a source of creative ideas, a place to connect investors, experts and Fintech startups, thereby nurturing breakthrough ideas, serving the development of both the Fintech industry and Da Nang City.
This is also an opportunity for us to build a diverse and growing Fintech community, contributing to improving Da Nang's competitiveness in the context of international integration," said Mr. Ho Ky Minh.
