On the evening of May 20, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee organized a ceremony to commend and reward students with outstanding achievements in the 2025 - 2026 school year. The program was broadcast live on platforms, attracting the attention of a large number of officials, teachers, parents and students.
The highlight of the program is the presence of 267 typical students, representing thousands of excellent students of the mountainous province of Lao Cai.
These are faces who have achieved high results at the National Excellent Student Selection Contest, science and technology competitions, startups and many provincial and national intellectual playgrounds.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh - Vice Chairwoman of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that the 2025-2026 school year is the first school year after the two provinces of Lao Cai and Yen Bai merged, opening up a new development space for education in the Northwest region.
Despite many difficulties, the Education and Training sector has quickly stabilized its organization, promoted digital transformation, and improved the quality of comprehensive and specialized education.
Last school year, the whole province had nearly 2,900 students win provincial-level excellent student prizes; more than 160 students won prizes at national-level exams and competitions.
Notably, 134 students won prizes at the National Excellent Student Selection Contest, bringing Lao Cai to rank 8th nationwide in the number of prizes and continuing to lead the Northern mountainous provinces region.

At the ceremony, the Ministry of Education and Training awarded Certificates of Merit to 74 students who won first, second, and third prizes in the National Excellent Student Selection Exam. Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 86 students with outstanding achievements in national exams, science and technology competitions, and startups.

The Provincial Department of Education and Training also awarded Certificates of Merit to 108 students who won high prizes at the National Defense and Security Education Sports Festival and provincial-level excellent student exams.
