On July 2nd-3rd, Hanoi Open University held a graduation ceremony in 2026 for more than 2,000 new masters, bachelors, engineers and architects.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung - Rector of Hanoi Open University affirmed that the event is a special milestone in the journey of learning and maturity of students. The graduation certificate is the result of a process of studying, persistent training, overcoming many pressures, difficulties and even personal limitations.
Sending to the new graduates, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung - Rector of Hanoi Open University emphasized four core things.
First of all, the spirit of lifelong learning. In the context of constantly changing knowledge, what is learned today will never be enough if each person stops learning, Ms. Nhung advises young people to learn from work, learn from colleagues, learn from life, learn from failures and learn from the problems that society is raising.
Second, maintain honesty and a sense of responsibility. According to the Principal, competence can help a person progress quickly, but it is character that determines sustainable development. In any position, everyone needs to maintain professional self-respect, work kindly and put common interests above short-term interests.
Third, nurture the aspiration to contribute because according to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung: "Individual success will be more meaningful when creating value for the community".
Fourth, always maintain the spirit of "Openness" - the core value of Hanoi Open University. That is the spirit of knowing how to listen, learn, respect differences, be willing to cooperate, constantly overcome personal limits to live more usefully, humanely and bravely.
Representing the students receiving the degree, new Master Hoang Van Thai, majoring in English Language, shared that the graduation certificate is not the final destination, but the starting point of a new journey, where learners continue to apply knowledge to practice, constantly creating and contributing.
Mr. Thai believes that the responsibility of people with postgraduate qualifications lies not only in professional competence but also in professional ethics, service spirit and the desire to create positive values for the community.
The Rector of Hanoi Open University advised that graduation is not the end point of learning, but the beginning of a new journey, where each person will continue to face "tests" from professional practice, competitive pressure, right and wrong choices, perseverance in the face of failure and bravery in the face of constant changes in society.
